Roosters

Our quite lovely hotel we noticed last night was next to 11 chickens (and an aloof cat, who apparently did not understand what I was offering as far as love and affection).  However, this morning, we realized the full significance of living next to 11 chickens was the one rooster, who began crowing at 8:00am.  This was already a late rising rooster, since sunrise around here is at 5:30am.  Regardless, this was fine for me as I was already up, but it was more motivation than the iPhone alarm to make Randall get up.  Or perhaps that was for me to wake Randall up.  I can never tell with these roosters.

  1. Ahhh Rosters! We have Ignacio I and his son Ignacio II who get us AND the kids up at dawn, so pretty early in the summer. As you might guess from the name they are bright red, flame-like creatures. At least when they are penned up in the hen-house the noise is somewhat muffled. The AM crowing is NOTHING compared to the noise they both make when the local red-tailed hawks perch in the nearby trees and gaze longingly at lovely 10 girls in the flock.

Glad to see you found a delightful hotel and are enjoying the Greek food!
