Gratuitous Delphi Photos

Here's the theatre and the temple of Apollo at Delphi -- the temple is largely in ruins, but you can see some of the columns on the left.  


Below and on the right hand side just out of this photo, there is a much smaller building that is the Athenian treasury -- see pic below.  Apparently, all the major cities built mini-treasuries here as gifts to the Oracle.  You'll be unsurprised to hear that they were fairly systematically looted later on, although a few things survived (and are now in the Delphi museum) thanks to being covered over after a fire and/or earthquake.
