A real Greek wedding

So, we knew something was up this morning when we came down for the complimentary breakfast only to find that the room it was in yesterday was set up for a big event, and there were already two baskets of favors outside the doors...  yes, there was going to be a wedding reception here at our boutique hotel, which only has 18 rooms, and the entire 2nd floor is the ballroom.

Ergo, our reason to leave the hotel while the gist of the reception passed.  We escaped around 9pm (in time for the 10:10pm movie) just as the bride and groom were arriving.  The videographers/photographers were negotiating their equipment up the stairs as we were coming down.  The parking lot was full, and people were parking in non-traditional places, assuming that the cars they were blocking were also for the reception.  As we backed out of our spot, someone lined up to take it.

We had asked as we were leaving that morning how long the reception would last.  That was met with some shrugs and latent sheepish grins.  Midnight?  Yes, possibly.  1am?  Mmm, yes, possibly.

Well, as we report live, we returned from dinner and a movie around 1am.  We can easily hear the music from the parking lot, which is 3 floors to the ground below the reception hall.  From our room, we can feel a bit of vibration from what is going on several floors below, and the sound bleeds through the floor and from the balcony.  But what I can really hear are the two drunk Greek women in the room next door, who just came stumbling down the hall about 10 minutes ago.

We're going to turn up any station that is in English in protest.  Since I got a fair amount of sleep last night, I'll probably stay up and hear how long a real Greek wedding reception lasts.
