Unusual animal sightings

We will add to this post, but at present we have seen:

1 viper - apparently there is only one type of poisonous snake in Greece, and it was at Dion.  However, apparently also at Dion there are Greek laws which prohibit killing any animal.  Not sure who wins that argument...

1 hedgehog - it was dusk after a VERY LONG day, and both Randall's and my iPhone's batteries had died and we were never in a position to charge our phones owing to the fact that we were being escorted by our B&B host family, but it was a hedgehog!  I got to pet it!!!  Think Shar-pei, but even spikier!  The hairs were striped like a porcupine (which initially made me think a baby porcupine), but much shorter (about 1/2-3/4") and I could feel the rib cage expand as it breathed!!!  It was adorable, and after about 20 minutes, it scampered off into the oregano.

Many white storks - again as we were being driven by our host family, and at high speed, we were unable to take photographs, but there were man-made posts about 10m high for the storks to nest, and apparently, they return to the same nests yearly to lay eggs.  I think we will have to come back and take pictures.  We did see some flying later, but again, the iPhones were dead...
