Places change. People don't.

One of my favorite discoveries so far on this trip is the lead scroll seen below, found at Pella, the capital of Macedonia at the time of Philip II and Alexander the Great.

Pella is a huge site, covering literally 10s of square kilometers in theory although only a fraction of the city has been excavated.  So what is on this lead scroll, you ask?  Well, in case you can't read it from the picture, here's the original Greek:
Yeah, yeah, we couldn't read this either.  Fortunately, the folks who run the Pella Archaeological Museum have provided a translation and an explanation.  It takes a few readings to get the sense of it, but please tell me you don't know someone very like this person already...
