Delphi - visiting an old friend

On our first trip to Greece back in 2012, we visited Delphi.  It was overcast and drizzling, but how could we not go?

Well, now I have a chance to take better photos, so here they are!

Athenian Treasury (reconstructed).  Did you know that there is writing along the base on the temple?  I have more photos...
Athenian stoa colonnade, basically the mall, with Temple to Apollo just above.

 STAIRS!!!
Altar outside the temple.Temple of Apollo--the famous oracle.  I know it doesn't look like it but the clouds are going to break any second and give me terrific pictures!  Remember that 170' climb was an act of devotion to prove oneself worthy for the wisdom to be imparted by the Pythian priestess.

Rain gutters.

The sun is shining, as I climb higher to get a better perspective.  And you can see into the valley (center right) where the Pronaia to Athena and other monuments are.  I'll get to those shortly.
The ampitheatre.  On my first visit, you could go into the center and speak/sing.  I did the latter.  Randall has the video.  Now, it is roped off to all but the cats.

The stadium at an elevation of 2160'.  We hiked 400' up to get here.  Unfortunately, it is (still) visible only from one end, and even then, one can't get to the end to get the whole field, so here it is in two shots.

And in the other direction,

Elevated view as we were descending into this area.  Unfortunately, for some reason at some point in the last couple of hundred years, someone decided to store the "spare parts" of a given monument inside the perimeter of the ruined structure.  Combined with the limited accessibility to see other than the front of the monument, makes trying to decipher these from the ground next to impossible.  The Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, the tholos (round monument), however has been partially reconstructed.

In the intervening 11 years, nothing has been done further to restore any of the structures on this site, and there do not appear to be plans for anything.  The most that has been done during that time was the installation of new paths/stairs for visitors.  But still we will return.  I have questions still for the oracle.
