Serendipitous Events

As we were walking from the Acropolis Museum to the Kotsanas Museum, we naturally passed the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Syntagma Square.

Well, since the temple of Zeus is one of the largest such, it didn't cost us 6€ to realize that anything inside the gate would be completely obfuscated.

Obviously something is going on here, and we will catch the results at a later date!

Meanwhile, here are pictures without the scaffolding from 2012, which for some inexplicable reason, never made it into a post from then?!?

It was grey and getting more overcast, which may be why I didn't publish these pictures.

And then we passed the Royal Old Palace and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier just at a ceremonial changing of the guard. There were others taking video from the start which one can easily find on YouTube. I just settled with this one picture, and then being in the moment for the rest of the ceremony.

Although the cenotaph was dedicated in 1932, it honors those who fell in battle from antiquity through present day.
